What if this year didn’t start with pressure—but with progress?
Not a complete overhaul.
Not a “new you.”
Just one small, consistent step forward.
That’s exactly why we’re excited to announce our Couch to 5K Community Walk/Run Club, open to members and non-members alike, and designed for all levels of fitness.
Whether you haven’t exercised in years, currently walk for fitness, or already jog but want structure and accountability, this program meets you where you are—and helps you move forward from there.
What Is A Couch to 5K?
A Couch to 5K isn’t about speed, comparison, or suffering through workouts you’re not ready for.
It’s about:
Gradually building endurance
Mixing walking and running in a smart, progressive way
Gaining confidence week by week
And proving to yourself that improvement is possible—no matter where you start
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is progress.
The Big Goal: April’s “Shamrock’n the Harbor” 5K
We believe goals matter—but only when they feel achievable and motivating.
That’s why our Couch to 5K club is building toward a shared finish line:
The “Shamrock’n the Harbor” 5K in April.
Some participants may choose to run the entire race.
Others may walk, jog, or do a combination of both.
Every finish counts. Every effort matters.
Crossing that finish line together isn’t about proving anything to anyone else—it’s about recognizing how far you’ve come.

Why a Group Makes All the Difference
Motivation fades. Life gets busy. Weather isn’t always ideal.
That’s why community matters.
This club isn’t about competing—it’s about showing up together. The Saturday group workouts are a chance to:
Move at your own pace
Be encouraged by others on the same journey
Build consistency through connection
And turn exercise into something you actually look forward to
You don’t need to be “in shape” to join.
You just need to be willing to start.
If You’re Nervous, You’re Exactly Who This Is For
If you’re thinking:
“I’m too out of shape.”
“I’ll slow everyone down.”
“I’ve failed at this before.”
You’re not alone—and you’re not disqualified.
This program is built on the idea that fitness is a skill, not a personality trait. Skills are learned. Endurance is built. Confidence grows through action.
Walking is progress.
Jogging is progress.
Showing up is progress.
Improvement Looks Different for Everyone—and That’s the Point
Some people will start by walking most of the time.
Others will already be able to jog short intervals.
Both are exactly where they’re supposed to be.
We measure success by:
Consistency over weeks, not intensity in one workout
Feeling stronger, not just faster
Building a habit that lasts beyond April
This is about becoming a little better than you were yesterday—again and again.
Ready to Take the First Step?
The hardest part isn’t the 5K.
It’s deciding to begin.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it.
If you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” it’s January 10.
Join us for the Couch to 5K Community Walk/Run Club, take it at your pace, and discover what’s possible when improvement—not perfection—is the goal.
We’ll see you at the start line.
